Community – Together, we find our best selves.

“We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone… and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something beautiful.” – Sandra Day O’Connor

One of the deepest desires within ourselves is to feel that we “belong and connect to” a person or group of individuals that honor and support who we truly are. To be recognized and uplifted by another, leads to our health and wholeness.

“Community” has been a core principle at Desert Song throughout it’s 37-year history. A foundation of community has been built through the practices, therapies and healing arts offered. The growth of the center has been supported by the core beliefs of inclusivity, acceptance and respect. With all the distraction created by political divisiveness, so dominant in our culture over the past decade, Desert Song has been an oasis. It has been a blessing to be part of this healthy, growing community – to connect with one another, no matter one’s political views.

It is through yoga, tai chi, Pilates, meditation and all the therapeutic practices-and events offered here at Desert Song, that we are given the opportunity to slow our lives down and allow for the time needed to soften our edges and recognize our human relationship to each other. These practices give us the confidence to step more fully into ourselves. And, when we come together, we find our best selves through the love and support of one another.

Through all the years Desert Song has been a part of my life, I have both witnessed, and, been a recipient of the generosity of spirit that support our staff, students, clients and families. Our community is strong, compassionate and inviting. Our purpose and passion is to connect, support and thrive with one another in body, mind and soul, through our practices and events.

May you always feel welcomed here. And may you find the peace and health you truly deserve.

With deep respect and gratitude,
Mary Beth, Vince and Tuli
