Gain Clarity, Focus & Spiritual Awareness Having taught 100s of beginners all around the world, Emma Swan will be providing an introduction to a meditation based on the chakras. Each week will include both a sitting and lying meditation, as well as a discussion focusing on a particular element. Week 1: Internalization of consciousness. Inner qualities as the device for meditation. Week 2: Practicalities – where and when to meditate. Posture, and what to do about pains in your body. Week 3: Dynamic awareness. How to bring what you’ve learned into your daily activities. Emma is an expert in meditation, having dedicated her life to the practice for the last 16 years, including a decade of intensive practice at a retreat center. She has taught numerous meditation workshops not just in the US, but in Europe and Australia. Emma is passionate about helping people explore their inner world in quest of further self-knowledge. She also understands the challenges of modern life and has a patient approach, creating a safe and loving space for her students.
This class is mixed with beginner and intermediate students. All students warm-up together and learn the martial arts applications to strengthen muscles and bones with Tai Chi repeated moves. The steps of the form are then taught at a beginner’s level, one step each week. The last 25 minutes of class will focus on the intermediate students to practice the form. Newer students are encouraged to stay and watch or participate.
This is a 1 hour class and is designed for beginning Tai Chi students. It provides an excellent transition between the Intro to Tai Chi and the intermediate classes. Focus is on stretching, balance techniques, flow of breath with the body, and all the hand and foot movements of Tai Chi.
