Yoga Teacher Training Alumni

Reconnecting with our YTT alumni community

On May 15th 2010, Mary Beth Markus hosted a gathering at the center for all Desert Song Yoga Teacher Training alumni. Mary Beth has been offering teacher training for close to 20 years. Over 60 former students attended! Many of the alumni are still active members of the Desert Song community, but it was also a wonderful chance to reconnect with men and women whom we haven't seen for many, many years. The group viewed a photo slide show, which highlighted teacher training sessions from years past, and it was quite incredible to reflect on how many lives have been touched by the center's presence in the valley.

As anyone who has gone through a teacher training course can tell you, the experience is life altering and life enhancing. After the slide show presentation (and a few tears), the alumni briefly shared where their yoga practice has led them over the years, how the training affected their choices and paths. It was a unique opportunity to witness the many ways Yoga can be woven into our life's experiences. Thank you to all who attended.
