After 25 years as a professional dancer, singer, actress, and choreographer, I felt drawn to pursue a career in bodywork. For many years, I have been on a journey exploring and experiencing the how, what, and why of the ways in which we move and heal. I first became a physical therapist, manual therapist, and Feldenkrais teacher in Germany, where I practiced for 7 years. Upon return to the US in 2006, I received my massage therapy certification from the Cortiva Institute in Scottsdale AZ and a NASM personal training certification in 2007. My interest in yoga and learning more about Eastern perspectives towards health and well-being, led me to complete Desert Song’s Yoga Teacher Training program (also in 2007), and began teaching yoga in 2008.

The massage therapy I offer, integrates a variety of very effective techniques in the treatment of soft-tissue dysfunction, pain, injury, stress, and trauma. Bringing many years of study and experience in the fields of massage therapy, physical and manual therapy, exercise science, dance, in combination with Pilates and Yoga, has provided me with the flexibility to customize the soft-tissue techniques/bodywork/yoga to meet your individual needs – from a soothing relaxation massage, to releasing muscles and deeper connective tissues that hold patterns of tension and pain, to relearning efficient, functional movement patterns.

My approach to each session is to be ready to listen to your body’s intelligence and wisdom and to assist you in your healing process.

I continue to pursue my studies of Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation, Yoga, and Ayurveda. My goal is to be up to date on current treatments and methodologies in these areas, in order to provide my best healing techniques that will allow you attain or retain, optimal health.

The modalities and techniques I offer and integrate include:

  • Swedish Massage,

  • Therapeutic Massage,

  • Deep Tissue,

  • Prenatal,

  • Myofascial Release,

  • Muscle-Energy Technique,

  • Postural Release,

  • PNF,

  • Stretching,

  • Thai Massage,

  • Reflexology,

  • Somatic Integration,

  • Myokinesthetic System,

  • Craniosacral Therapy,

  • Visceral Manipulation,

  • Marma Therapy, and

  • Kineseo Taping.

My yoga classes are designed to allow you to explore and discover the inner workings of the poses with ease, while deepening your understanding and experience of your body’s alignment and wholeness. By slowing down, you will sense and feel more clearly where effort is needed and where you are holding unnecessary tension. Attention is also brought to the transitions between the poses where habitual movement patterns can lead to injury. You will find ways to organize your body to move with more ease, strengthen core muscles, improve flexibility, and learn to reduce and eliminate pain.

The study and practice of yoga brought me an appreciation of the importance of alignment. A key to alignment is bringing together body and mind through awareness. Gentle movement and directed attention develop this self-awareness.  A slower pace creates space to listen and feel within, which will enhance your experience of the fundamental, foundational, and energetic aspects of the poses.

My heartfelt gratitude extends to all of my amazing teachers for their inspiration and teachings, as well as to the instructors from the many workshops I attended through the years, all have enriched my practice and my teaching.
