Yoga Class in Millennial Park

This past weekend I went to Chicago to meet a special childhood friend who I have known all my life. Our mothers were friends and pregnant at the same time with us. Our families were close and we grew up together. She lives in Louisiana and was so excited to hear that I was on sabbatical. It’s been 15 years since we had seen each other but it feels like yesterday because we know each other so well. Five years ago she finally tried yoga and now she goes to a studio in Baton Rouge every day! We went to a yoga class at Millennial Park with roughly a hundred yogi’s of all ages and levels of experience. We swam in Lake Michigan, rode bicycles, went to a outdoor symphony at Millennial Park, ate at some fantastic Chicago restaurants, enjoyed the Chicago Art Museum and attended a Sunday street fair. We thoroughly enjoyed our slice of time together.  Our friendship, laughter, love, memories and time spent together brought us full circle with one another. I am taking this time to reconnect with people I haven’t seen in so long and places that are meaningful to me. Next trip is to Jersey to spend some time with my family. - Mary Beth
